Lots of amazing stuff going on here! =) I am always amazed by how consistent your lines are and how much patience you portray as an artist. I know the subject is tomatoes. I think tomatoes is something I could mess up easily but the mistakes can be easily covered, as for the plate.... not a chance. =) The plate you drew is AWESOME!
I don't think these look overworked at all - maybe something isn't translating in the photo, or maybe you just feel overworked by it? :)
This is beautiful work - the shadows on the plate's pattern and the shadows in the tops of the tomatoes are so well done! Tomatoes are tough; I've bungled them up before. This is excellent work.
I find some reds are hard to get right, but you really got the tomatos spot on with their colours. They look like really good sun ripe tomatos and they would be so good with basil and goat cheese : )
Just beautiful! Amazing color work!
ReplyDeleteYou coninue to amaze me with your ability to faithfully reproduce complex, microscopic designs. And I love the plumpness of the tomatoes, of course.
ReplyDeleteWhere the tomato catches the light and the shine is really great!
ReplyDeletemmm look good, i love roasted tomatoes usually with basil and garlic, but will try with rosemary
ReplyDeleteYUM!!
ReplyDelete(both for the painting and the thought of them roasting in the oven :) ) x
Love the way each tomato has its own shape - and the plate is lovely. I think you should keep it!
ReplyDeleteThe tomatoes are great, and the shadows. But I can't believe the patience in doing the rim of that plate! Nicely done!
ReplyDeletehmm roast veggies yum. Nicely drawn as always.
ReplyDeleteLeft you a reply re FB on my post.
Sounds really yum! Great work you make it look so easy.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the tomatoes would be okay to paint but that the plate would be really hard! Nice job.
