It's amazing, i love the way the ropes move through the composition! And I like it both ways. It has a slightly different mood each time. Wonderful work!
think you're right Deb, try tinting in photoshop next time as a try out, the colour kills the background rope, isolates the wood and takes the depth away. You'll know next time.x
I dont know how I have been missing some of your posts... I think both of these are great and I like them both if different ways. The one with colour is a bit softer, the B/W one feels more detailed, but both would look stunning framed (the B/W one in large matting around it).

ReplyDeleteI like both versions....the detail and shading is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSo complicated and so marvelously painted !
ReplyDeleteI really like both works, though I tend to see more character in black and white drawings, but it is just me.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, this is brilliant!! I like it with a touch of colour makes it pop.

ReplyDeleteUh oh here I go about to disagree with the artist. I like it better painted. For me it helps seperate the different textures.
ReplyDeleteHummm, I like the one with the paint. Seems that the decision is still split on which is best!
ReplyDeleteI'm no expert on nautical knots, but it looks like you know what you're doing :)
ReplyDeleteI like both versions.
