Sushi

Haven't had any time for sketching this week...here's a 20 minute sketch of sushi in my lunchbreak
My mouth was watering so much!
Drawn on the kids art paper and using their coloured pencils which didn't have the right colours

the sushi at the back is inari sushi (soy bean sheet with rice inside) and the front one is a mixed sushi.
Here's the same image with a little paint added......

I'm pulling the winner of the draw out of the hat later today...when I've drawn the hat!

Florists Shop, Northpoint

EDM 124 - Draw something yellow
Chinese New Year arrangements for sale. Red, gold yellow and orange are all "lucky" colours for CNY.
These are what I knew as "five-fingered eggplants" (they are  poisonous), the genus name of the plant is solanum mammosum.
The wikipedia link below will tell you some of its common names I didn't know until now ( amusing certain members of my family).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solanum_mammosum
I'm going to try buy one seed so I can sketch it

EDM 288 - Draw something with spots

Work gloves, not sure if these are really spots....
I bought these from our local hardware shop thinking they'd be fun to draw.........
they were, and I didn't let myself draw every stitch.
Thanks for all your comments and support on the last post.

Chinese Mug with lid

It's cold enough here to need a lid on my coffee to stop it getting cold. I've had a week where I found everything hard to draw or un-inspiring.
I've tried to draw these mugs several times and still can't get them right but decided to post it anyway.

I bought some Chinese ink the other day and outlined the pattern with that, not sure it works but the great thing is that once dry you can paint over without smudging.
Will work on it. One thing I realise I learned from doing the sketchbook project is how to move on to the next drawing ......

Arthouse Sketchbook Project Page 39

This is the last sketch page, the next one will have name/blog info.
I have the cover and first title page to do...and fiddle around with the last few pages.
The thickness has made it a bit hard to scan properly....

I just want to thank you all for the encouragement and support.

If you lived here ......
