Strange roots indeed. They look almost like the feet of some strange animal! Both versions are really good, I couldn't choose between them. Coincidently I've just finished some bamboo in cp :D
At first when I saw the graphite version, I was amazed at all the detail. But I think I like the painted version better - the subtle coloring in it looks so real.
Simply adore both versions. I like the B&W one better maybe because I am more of a technical guy, but of course after coloring, it just looks spectacular =)
Great textures - I love this rendered just in graphite. They make me think of bones or relics
